Bridging the gap from remote learning to the return to in-classroom learning is an unprecedented challenge right now, and bringing together our volunteers, employees, and cohorts, MPTF’s Engagement team led by Director Fredda Johnson is proud to join the coalition partners of READY SET created by the CAA Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education. Helping students with this transition, the program uses volunteer engagement to support students whose learning has been impacted by the pandemic. “We have the opportunity to reach students across the country – particularly those in communities hardest hit by the pandemic – and provide them the support they need,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, seen above at the READY SET Field Day with Fredda. As Fredda explains, “You can positively impact a student’s life – and your own – by remotely volunteering as a tutor or mentor with just an hour a week.”
