MPTF’s commitment to taking care of our own requires the support of those who truly know the industry inside and out. Kevin McCormick, Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor, Warner Bros. Pictures, is one of those people. Exemplifying the best this business has to offer, he’s both a generous philanthropic supporter and a longstanding Board member. Kevin truly cares about the welfare of our industry’s workforce and about the resilience of MPTF as a major actor in the entertainment industry’s ecosystem. He began his career in the music world of London and New York before producing his first film, 1977’s Saturday Night Fever. Since then, he’s been involved in many notable films, most recently Elvis, Furiosa, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2.
As a studio executive, Kevin has been a champion for all things MPTF– along with his husband, Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer A. Scott Berg. Kevin was one of the founding producers of Reel Stories, Reel Lives (a title Scott created!); he generously contributes to our annual Giving Day and Telethon efforts; and he helped to restore the beloved Caesar statute in the Roddy McDowall Rose Garden on our campus. “Roddy McDowall made more friends in Hollywood than anybody who ever worked here,” Kevin said. “And that included Scott and me. Thirty years ago, he introduced us to the vital importance of MPTF because it serves everybody who works in this industry. Our commitment has steadily grown since then. It’s especially important today when our community is facing the greatest unemployment it has ever known.”
