Part of the MPTF family for 32 years, Marcia Braunstein is our Estate & Planned Gift Fund Specialist who helps plan a legacy for your family and your charitable needs. Previously at City of Hope, she was drawn to MPTF by the chance to work with the entertainment industry: “I’d always loved the movies ever since I was a little girl. When I was 14 or so for 25 cents you could get admission, popcorn, and a drink.” Now she helps that industry take care of its own. Starting off with annual giving and working on special events, Marcia made many priceless connections since handling Trust and Estates; for example, she gave a campus tour to MGM musical legend Ann Miller, which led to Ann bequeathing part of her estate to us including her spectacular wardrobe. Along the way Marcia’s also given tours to Ronald and Nancy Reagan and Sean Connery and worked with benefactors including Kirk and Anne Douglas and Janet Leigh.
“This place is very special to me,” Marcia says of being with MPTF. “A lot of people who were donors are living here now. I feel like I’m helping to make a difference.” With fellow team members Louie Anchondo (MPTF’s Director of Development) and Kathy Davis (Development Representative), Marcia knows her way around giving option like residuals, life insurance policies, IRAs, intellectual properties, or even an estate percentage. She emphasizes that gifts of any size are valuable: “Everyone, be it a cameraman, a grip, a greensman, up to the actors, producers, and writers, supports us and helps us continue to the work begun back in 1921.” After all, she concludes. “We really need everybody, especially right now during the 100th anniversary, to support us and make a difference.” Click here to find out more about Planned Giving.
