WE TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN

A ROBUST RETIREMENT COMMUNITY

MPTF offers a wide range of housing accommodations from independent and assisted living through skilled nursing and memory care—all nestled in acres of idyllic grounds on The Wasserman Campus in Woodland Hills. In the safety of a gated community, residents enjoy a broad range of facilities and activities with every need thoughtfully considered, making it possible to never leave the vibrant campus.

For those who wish to explore further, the local community offers abundant restaurants, cafes, shopping, and the Calabasas historic “old town,” all within walking distance. A stone’s throw beyond, field trips and personal drivers provide opportunities to visit Malibu beaches, museums, and more. A full roster of engaging activities with friendly staff and fellow residents help build lasting relationships. The Wasserman Campus is a wonderful and fulfilling place to live. We set the standard for connected and compassionate care.

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS?

Our continuum of care serves a broad range of needs in five distinct settings on the sprawling Wasserman Campus.

Independent and Assisted Living

Our retirement community housing for independent residents includes 60 free-standing Country House Garden Cottages. The Cottages are one-story units that offer a variety of floor plans from studios to single bedroom units with kitchens.

For both independent and assisted living, we offer apartment-style accommodations in the three-story, contemporary Fran and Ray Stark Villa with studio and single bedroom options for individuals and couples. The original Motion Picture Country House and the Frances Goldwyn Lodge provide a variety of studio accommodations in one-story buildings reserved for those who need greater assistance. For additional independent and assisted information and amenities, see more here >

Skilled Nursing

For our residents with more comprehensive care needs, we provide 24-hour medical supervision and attendant care in our Mary Pickford House, a five-star 40-bed unit with the adjacent Hersholt Place offering an additional 10 beds. Both offer private and semi-private rooms specifically designed for individuals who require around-the-clock nursing care. For skilled nursing accommodations, see more here >

Memory Care

Harry’s Haven is our state-of-the-art facility for people living with dementia and the effects of Alzheimer’s who can no longer be cared for in a less restrictive setting. Our 40-bed secure memory care facility is comprised of both private and semi-private rooms with four distinct neighborhoods each with its own imaginative activity station. The space is designed strategically to stimulate and engage this special audience, and provide help to nurture the highest quality of life for individuals in our care. For memory care living details, see more here >

WHO CAN LIVE HERE? HOW DO I BEGIN?

Eligible industry members and their spouses may apply to live on campus beginning at the age of 70. For additional eligibility information, see more here >

Beginning the process for residency starts with a call to our social services intake line at 323 634 3866. A social worker provides an assessment with the industry member and/or spouse regarding their inquiry into residency. Then, a social worker is assigned to follow the applicant(s) throughout the process, offering guidance and customized referrals as needed since often (but not always!) there is a wait list.

For residents who might need help bridging the gap or who choose to age in place, our Elder Connection program offers the knowledge, oversight, and resource connections to help. See more about Elder Connection here >

STAY HEALTHY AND ENGAGED

Residents enjoy a world of fun and interesting options to stay stimulated including the Saban Center for Health and Wellness with the Jodie Foster Aquatic Pavilion, MPTF Studios producing content and broadcast to all of the residents on campus, and first run movies and lectures in the Louis B. Mayer Memorial Theatre complex. There are sprawling walking paths with beautifully manicured gardens, including the Roddy McDowall Rose Garden, tended by a dedicated team of skilled gardeners, a fenced dog park for our four-legged friends, a host of daily, weekly, and monthly activities, and so much more.

For those who receive medical care or pharmaceutical support off campus, we offer transportation as needed. The Wellness Center offers robust facilities for physical therapy on campus with many age-appropriate exercise classes and the option to work with a personal trainer. Also, our walking group is a great option to stay active and engaged.

EAT, DRINK, AND BE NOURISHED

Abundant dining options include delicious fare in elegant dining rooms in the Villa, Lodge, and Country House, an array of menu offerings at the Heartbeat Cafe, and lighter fare with grab-and-go options in the Outtakes Cafe. Nearby, for residents who like to explore further afield, a dozen restaurants within walking distance offer places to visit with friends or family in the bustling community.
